The
Time

est certainement THE TIME.
puis Janet Jackson.
The Time était un concept-band original de machos classieux
ringard belliqueux. Quatre albums disques d'or et de platines
aux USA. Des morceaux comme "Give it Up", "Chilly Sauce", "Chocolate"
album.
scandant un "What time is it ?".
(1985), "Color of Success" (1986) et "Fishnet"
"Corporate World" et "Murph Drag".
The
most importantl band of the princey productions is certainly THE
TIME. The history tells that The Time is born from FlyTime, rival
of Grand Central in Mineapolis. Prince fired the singer Alexander
(Nevermind?) O' Neal (or he left, but anyway he had a great New
Funk carrer) and put Morris Day. Later on, Jimy Jam and Terry
Lewis created their own records company "FlyTime Productions"
and produced Cherelle and Janet Jackson!
The Time was an original Boys Band: Jerome Benton as the servant
and Morris Day in the role of the posing star.
Four gold and platinum albums in the USA. Tracks like "Give it
Up", "Chilly Sauce", "Chocolate" or "My Summertime Thang" are
pure wonders (the direct influence of Prince has a strong effect).
Prince is in every vocals (even the vocals of "variouis girlfriends"
are proof of the male/female games of you know who). Prince deposited
the copyrights of the shinning "Cool" and of the brillant
"Get it up" songs. One can even wonder if 90% of The Time's LPs
is not the only expression of the hyper and obsessive productivity
of Prince. And this is possible that Prince wrote each of The
Time CD!
I must underline the existence of the track extension of "Cloreen
Bacon Skin" (on the Crystall Ball CD-Box) with Prince in the vocals,
madly moaning a "What time is it?".
Solo albums of Morris Day, although unequals, are packed of real
pearls : "Oak Tree" (1985, cool party style video), "Color of
Success" (1986) and "Fishnet (1997).
After a first come-back on the Graffity Bridge Prince Album, they
made their best during 2000 with live concerts that showed that
The Time was one of the best funck band still alive. The Time
collectors on CDs: "9 Lives", "Corporate World" and "Murph
Drag".
